Erika Cooley strongly believes that each individual is their own expert. When things become complicated, it is often hard to put ourselves in the driver’s seat and take control. Through practice, Erika strives to help you find that strength within to overcome some of life’s most difficult challenges.
Erika’s interest in mental health peaked after college, when she worked with a therapeutic recreational program for children. Witnessing others find and develop their own strengths, she saw how empowering this can be, motivating her to continue to be an agent for change.
Erika facilitates a trauma informed, strengths based approach. She has worked with individuals and families of various ages and backgrounds, focusing on crisis intervention, anger management, various mental health concerns, addressing self-esteem, and parenting skills. Erika incorporates cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies in order to assist individuals in developing skills and strengths. She also has experience working in Child Welfare with substance abuse and mental health populations.
Erika has spent her career working in the Tallahassee and surrounding areas. She received her Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University in 2013. She is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern.
